chess

Here we are taking part in our chess class. Every week the children look forward to a Thursday afternoon. Lots of children have even been having a go at home.

I think chess is great fun. (Mohamed)

I like chess because it is great to challenge a friend. (Hamdi)

I like chess because we have a great mentor and it gives me a chance to practise my skills (Abdirazaq)

Anti Bullying Week Video

Another great performance from Year 4. After doing such a great job for music week we were also asked to create a song for cyber bullying. All children created their own songs and then we used different sentences from children's books to create a class song. Year 4 always make me so proud with their talents and eagerness to put on a good performance.

Children in Need

We have had a really great day celebrating Children in Need. A big thank you to all parents who supported their children in getting dressed up. It was great to see the effort made to create new super heroes. Take a look at a few of ours below:

PE Kit

Year 4 are really pleased to have their PE kit. Today was the first day that we got to wear it and all the children looked really smart. We are hoping the weather stays dry tomorrow for our outdoor PE.

Children In Need

Be a Super Hero for the day.

Friday the 14th is Children In Need day. We will be celebrating by dressing up as a Super Hero for the day, contributing 50p to charity. Please encourage children to take part and support them with creating a costume. Remember you do not have to go spending money on a costume as it could be made using items around the home. Don't forget some special shoes (could be your wellies), a cape, some gloves (marigolds) and even a face mask. Children can come as a well known Super Hero or they can create their own one.

What Super Hero will your child be?

French person of the week.

Take a look at our special French children of the weeks so far. Every week a new child is selected to greet Mrs Cartlidge as she enters our learning zone. This gives children the extra opportunity to practise their French. We are also completing the register in French as well as learning our numbers to ten and asking a friend how they are, also being able to reply if asked.

Music lyrics.

Below you can a photograph of our music week lyrics below. The children as a whole class together decided on what school means to them, daily routine and the things/lessons that they most enjoy. We then placed these ideas together into verses and a chorus to an instrumental tune, creating a song all about Cabot. The video is on its way, however we are having trouble up loading it. Keep checking back.
