French

During our French lessons we have been learning how to list the different places and attractions in Paris.

Take a look at our partner work and sharing.

Literacy

In Literacy, we have been looking at instructions. We are writing instructions for 'How to train your Dragon'. We learnt the text map through role play.

Mr Tahirs Visit

We were fortunate enough to have Mr Tahirs and his wife visit from Ayatt Grammar School in Pakistan. We learnt even more about the school and what happens on a daily basis.

Ice cream

In Year 4 we have been learning about physical changes. We carried out an experiment to make Ice cream, turning a liquid into a solid. Take a look at the steps we took and the fun we had shaking the liquid. The final outcome tasted great 😋

Zoo Trip

                                                        A trip to remember!
Year 4 had a brilliant day at the Zoo on Thursday. Not only did we see a range of animals but we also attended an informative workshop called 'Food Chains, Fangs and Molars', run by Katie, who showed us different animal skulls and teeth and we met some more friendly animals at the zoo.

World Book Day

All week at Cabot Primary School, we have been celebrating 'Book Week'. Year 4 created a class pop up book called The Faraway Tree which was based on our Literacy topic. On Monday we also got to visit Foyles book store and select our free book. On Friday all children got the opportunity to dress up as their favourite character. Some children chose to dress up as children out of our class pop up book.

Other children dressed up as characters from alternatives books.

Shelters

I'm During term 4, our DT topic is 'shelters'. We have been looking at a range of shelters and considering their purpose. Today the children had a challenge to create a dog kennel using only A3 paper and tape. Each group aimed for a sturdy dog kennel and folded/rolled the paper in many different way to decide how to best complete the task. All children worked well in a group and ended up with a final product. Some children were happier than others with their end result and this allowed us to reflect on what we could differently if we completed the task again.

Here are some of our final designs.
