Red Lodge trip
On Monday the 4th of July we visited the Red Lodge for a Portrait workshop. The children got the oportunity to look around the red lodge, learn about the history and try on some Tudor clothing. We ended the session sketching a portrait of Lady Joan Young. After the Red Lodge we were all very hungry and ate our lunch on College Green. We also enjoyed the scones we had made in the morning with Miss Manka for DT week.

Pablo Picasso
Year 4 have been learning about Pablo Picasso. We have learnt about his life and the different styles of artwork he produced. We focused a lot on his cubism period and children have had a go at creating their own cubism designs. Take a look.

Year 4's tour around Bristol
Last week, Year 4 were very lucky to go on an open top bus tour around Bristol to learn about its history. Thankfully the weather was also on our side. The bus company came and picked us up from school and the tour lasted approximately 2 and a half hours with a half an hour stop in Clifton where we walked across the Suspension Bridge. Lots of the children were amazed by the views as well as a few of us, including myself, who felt a little nervous due to the height. Take a look out our tour below:

Writing Week
What a glorious day for our writing week, whole school balloon release. Each child wrote a message on their balloon an we hope who ever finds them will contact the school to let us know how far it has travelled. Take a look at our special morning below.
Gardening club
Some of Year 4 have been lucky enough to be taking part in gardening club.
After only a few weeks they already had a snack to take home.
Science experiment
In Year 4 we are currently learning about staying healthy within our Scîence topic. After many discussions over lunchtimes about the content of children's lunch boxes, the children decided they would like find out more about sugar its affects on the body. I kindly donated my childhood teeth to allow the class to experiment the affects sugar has on teeth. Take a look at what we found out below.
