Wild Place

Wild Place Trip

On the 1st of February, Year 4 went to Wild Place for the day. We looked at amazing animals from across the world including the mischievous lemurs of Madagascar and the striking grey wolves of Europe. We also listened to the Lemur talk and watched their feeding time.

In the afternoon did some outdoor learning where we explored the local environment to find natural items such as sticks, leaves, using them to create a piece of art work. Take a look a the images below to see what animals we found out about.

Making a model of the Earth

In Geography we were learning about the structure of the Earth. The children made models to try and show the Earth's structure, including the crust, mantle and core. The children chose which materials they wanted to use to represent each layer and how they wanted to create their model so we could view all of the layers. They produced many interesting and creative models!

Year 4's WOW DAY

We had the most amazing time learning about the Stone Age and fossils on Monday. We took part in some maths challenges looking at Stone Age numerals and had a go at making our own shelters outdoors. We also used charcoal, pastels and chalk to create our very own cave art pictures and in the afternoon we published our artwork onto clay tiles. Take a look at some of the images form our favourite parts of the day.
