DT - Sandwiches
On Wednesday for our DT topic we got the chance to create sandwiches that we had planned. We also practised our slicing and spreading skills. Afterwards, we sat down in a circle and enjoyed our sandwiches not forgetting to say a blessing from each of our cultures for the food we had.
Roman WOW Day
On the 18th of December, we had an amazing Roman WOW day. All children got to consolidate their learning at the end of the topic as our visitor brought our Roman topic alive. Experts like Kevin have subject knowledge that is second-to-none and he soon had the children transfixed on what he was telling them and his artifacts.
Here are a few quotes from the children.
Maida A "I thought the Roman day was really fun. I got to hold the shield and it was really heavy."
Asli "I thought the Rman day was really interesting as Kevin taught us even more interesting facts than we already knew."
Sabrina "The Roman WOW day was really fun and he showed us how to use shields and the spears."
Take a look at our day below.

Children In Need
Be a Super Hero for the day.
Friday the 14th is Children In Need day. We will be celebrating by dressing up as a Super Hero for the day, contributing 50p to charity. Please encourage children to take part and support them with creating a costume. Remember you do not have to go spending money on a costume as it could be made using items around the home. Don't forget some special shoes (could be your wellies), a cape, some gloves (marigolds) and even a face mask. Children can come as a well known Super Hero or they can create their own one.
What Super Hero will your child be?
French person of the week.
Music lyrics.
Below you can a photograph of our music week lyrics below. The children as a whole class together decided on what school means to them, daily routine and the things/lessons that they most enjoy. We then placed these ideas together into verses and a chorus to an instrumental tune, creating a song all about Cabot. The video is on its way, however we are having trouble up loading it. Keep checking back.

Music Week
Music Week
I hope you are all enjoying the half term break.
The final week of the first term was a very exciting one. Our task from Miss Heppner was to create some verses about Cabot. The children thoroughly enjoyed creating their thoughts about Cabot and we decided to create a whole song. The children worked really well together, choosing an instrumental beat and then listening carefully to the tune to create verses that fitted.
Take a look at the message Miss Heppner left for us when we got back from lunch.
Video clip of the performance to follow.

Year 4 Chess
Next week Year 4 will be starting Chess every Thursday afternoon. We will have around 30 lessons that will help the children to play confidently against their opponent. Lots of children also have siblings in Year 6 who have previously had Chess lessons so they will be able to practise at home as well as share tips. We are really looking forward to this exciting opportunity. Keep checking the blog for some Chess photos.
